NC Association of Mortgage Professionals or NCAMP,
NCAMP is a statewide industry supported association dedicated to advancing the knowledge and understanding of the mortgage profession.  NCAMP offers its members educational opportunities, legislative and regulatory updates, and numerous other benefits to ensure its members are among the most knowledgeable and informed mortgage financing professionals serving the public.  As a condition of membership all members agree to abide by a strict code of ethics designed to protect the consumer as well as to help assure compliance with both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and regulations.
 
Mortgage Bankers Association of America Consumer Information
The Mortgage Bankers Association of America is the preeminent association representing the real estate finance industry. Their consumer information site contains several tools and guides to aid in purchasing or refinancing a home.
 
Federal Reserve Board Consumer Information
The Federal Reserve Board maintains a web page with consumer information, including a section on home mortgages. The section covers topics such as finding the best mortgage and understanding ARMs.
 
Homebuyer Education by Freddie Mac
Freddie Mac is a publicly held corporation chartered by Congress to increase the supply of funds that mortgage lenders, such as commercial banks, mortgage bankers, savings institutions and credit unions, can make available to homebuyers and multifamily investors. This Freddie Mac site offers a step-by-step tutorial on the home buying decision process and the mortgage application process.

North Carolina Commissioner of Banks
The office of the commissioner of banks, together with the NC Banking Commission, is responsible for the chartering and regulation of N.C.'s state banks and trust companies,as well as registration/licensing of various financial instutions operating in NC, including check cashers, consumer finance companies, mortgage bankers and brokers, money transmitters and refund anticipation lenders.
